Handbook of Neurotrauma is a recurring educational series endeavoured by Neurotrauma Society of India (NTSI). This volume is Part II of this series on head injuries and deals with the various aspects of Cranial Trauma. Authored by the subject experts and stalwarts, this edition focusses on the epidemiology, diagnosis, management of traumatic brain injury, pathology focused evidence-based guidelines on the procedures, clinical knowledge and pitfalls. It also brings to fore the current status of brain death declaration in India.
Prof. (Dr) Sumit Sinha (MCh), Editor-in-Chief is the Director of the Department of
Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon, Haryana, India. He has gained
significant expertise in the field of Endoscopic, Minimally invasive spine, and Keyhole
surgery having worked as a faculty at AIIMS for more than a decade and a half. He has more
than 250 research papers and projects published in peer-reviewed journals. His books on
Brachial Plexus injuries and Handbook of Neurotrauma: Spine Trauma (Vol 1) have already
been widely read and acclaimed around the world.
Dr. Nishant S. Yagnick (MCh), Associate Editor Editor has spent 14 years in the field of
medicine, completing his training in Neurosurgery from the prestigious Post Graduate
Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER, Chandigarh). He loves presenting
deeper truths to the reader in a story that reads like a thriller—A combination of Socrates and
John Grisham. This brought him international fame as the co-author of the article on Michael
Jackson’s Spinal Biomechanics, the acclaimed novel Scalpel Mavericks, and Handbook of
Neurotrauma: Spine Trauma (Vol 1).
Dr. Harsh Deora (MCh, DNB), Associate Editor, , has completed his training from the
prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS, Bangalore)
and was subsequently awarded the President’s Gold Medal among all Neurosurgery trainees
by the National Board of Examination. He more than 110 peer-reviewed published research
papers, 15 chapters and was also the co-editor of Handbook of Neurotrauma: Spine Trauma
(Vol 1). He has been an Editorial board member of both Neurology India and is the Associate
Editor of the Indian Journal of Neurotrauma. His research interests include neuro-monitored
image-guided cranial and spine surgery.
